What's my favorite new yarn?
I confess - I've been only knitting with Sundara yarn the past few days. The colors! The softness! The squishiness! I can't resist.
My smattered scarf is coming along nicely. I work on it a little bit everyday. It's an easy knit and I love the colors.
Sundara says that to avoid pooling with her sock yarn, knit with two balls at all time, alternating every other row. Well, of course I ignored her advice, because a. I'm lazy and b. I like pooling! It's fun to see what comes out in the end. I started some simple ribbed socks with the acid daffodil yarn.
I originally started out knitting the Yarrow Ribbed Socks from Knitting Vintage Socks, but they were too big for me. So I decided to recreate my best fitting socks, a simple ribbed Koigu pair. I love way the pooling became pseudo-stripes. And I love knitting with this yarn. It's softer than Koigu and the fabric comes out nice and squishy!
To complete my Sundara yarn-centric post, I received my order from pureknits today.
Look how sweet! Yahaira sent a nice note with my order. The sock yarn (Sundara yarn in raspberry torte!) is tied up in a bag with a ribbon. I also ordered a pattern from shibuiknits. The whole package came prettily wrapped in some brown and raspberry colored tissue paper - which coincidentally perfectly matched my yarn. I so appreciate the personal touches that Yahaira added to the order - it makes it that much more special to open! I highly recommend pureknits.com - a great shopping experience.

Look at you! You are an addict! And in the best way. I'm absolutely fascinated by how those socks turned out. The smattered scarf is so lovely and I'm wishing I had kept some of that yarn for myself. It would be so fabulous wrapped around my neck. Oh well, I can dye more.
You've chosen such a lovely range of the yarns and your pattern choices are perfect!
If that's not a winning endorsement, I don't know what is... I can't wait to place my first order!
I love the smattered colorway! The colors works so well is the multidirectional scarf pattern. Oh, I hope she does dye more of it...
Now I am waiting with bated breath until Sundara posts the new batch so I can get some in my hands. :)
