Knitting Meme!

The lovely Felicia has tagged me for a meme! (I think it's because I buy so much of her yarn). Here I go!

What is your all-time favorite yarn to knit with?

I'm going to have to go with an old reliable here. I love Cashmerino Aran. When I first started knitting, I thought a Cashmerino sweater would be the ultimate indulgence. There are a couple of yarns that I had more fun knitting with (Noro, Manos, and handpainted.com merino come to mind), but there's something very reliable and soothing about Cashmerino.

Your favorite needles?

Hands down, Addi Turbos. Followed very, very closely by Inox Express. Which are almost the same needles but the cable isn't as good.

The worst thing you'’ve ever knit?
I hate to admit this, but it's my hourglass sweater. It's not only the worst sweater I've made, but the most expensive too. I made it before I knew that silk stretches, and it has grown like nobody's business. I keep debating whether to frog it or try to fix it in some way. I might someday.

Your most favorite knit pattern? (maybe you donĂ‚’t like wearing it…but it was the most fun to knit)
Gosh, this is a hard question... I think it was the Apricot Jacket from Rebecca. A very badly translated pattern, but it was only the second sweater I made, and I had so much fun trying to figure out what to do next.

Most valuable knitting technique?

Finishing. I LOVE finishing. I know it's not really a technique, but I never have pieces of a sweater just hanging around.

Best knit book or magazine?

I like Interweave Knits. I've made more patterns from IK than anywhere else.

Your favorite knit-a-long?

Probably the Ribby Cardi KAL because it was the first one I did so it has a special place in my heart.

Your favorite knitblogs?

Ok, I have a lot of favorites. But I'm going to mention the ones that I've been reading for a while.
Streets & YO's - I have always thought Diana's photos and knitting style are wonderful.
sweetgeorgia - How many times can I mention Felicia in one post? I've always been a fan of her photos - so beautiful. And I'm jealous that she lives in Vancouver.
Grumperina - Kathy's commentary always makes me laugh and I think she's one of the wittiest knitters around. And she knits like a pro!
Purly Whites - Again, beautiful knitting and photos. I'm really drawn to good photos. And she got us into Arrested Development, for which I'm eternally grateful. And short row toes and heels! Woo hoo!

Your favorite knitwear designer?

I like the nameless Rebecca and Phildar designers!

The knit item you wear the most? (how about a picture of it!)

The sweater I wear the most often is one that I said was the least happy with when I finished it.

I think it's because it's soooo comfy and I don't care if it gets dirty. It's my hanging around the house sweater.

Tag time!

How exciting! This will be the first time I've tagged other knitbloggers. But no pressure! I'm tagging Karma, Blossom, and Winnie. I'm really interested in what all of you will say.

I'm so glad you got tagged for this. I really enjoyed reading your answers. You've knit so many fabulous sweaters that I was interested to see which you've liked and not liked, as well as which designers' you are fond of. And aaawww, I'm so happy to be one of your favorites! You are one of my favorites too.

And, Arrested Development starts up again on 11/7. How excited are we??

That's too bad you hate your hourglass, I wonder if a quick run in the washer and dryer would help it (felt it a little without felting it). I do love your apricot, that was a great choice.

Ive been dieing without AD on.

The apricot is my favorite of yours too, I can picture it on myself! And if the hourglass is stretching out, well, then I think it would be just about my size :)

whoops! hourglass stretched? what yarn did you use? if someone uses the same yarn, what changes would you recommend? (shortening the sleeves? making a smaller size?)
i think it looks perfect in the picture!
