Leafing and Beaching along

Thank you for all the nice comments about my fun hat! Of course, all of the kudos should go to Felicia, for making such nice yarn. After the joy of making the hat from her yarn, I had to start a sock from some of the sock yarn I bought from her.

This is the first sock I've knitted with the slip-stitch ribbed heel (I'm not sure if it's called a Dutch heel) but it does make a difference in the fit of the sock. This yarn is called "Beach" and it's very appropriate, don't you think?

A close up of the colorway - beautiful! It does remind me of the surf and sand with some golden rays peeking through.

I've also started the infamous Lace Leaf Pullover by Teva Durham...

...but my version is a little smaller, made with Jo Sharp Silkroad Ultra in Truffle.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is going to be one unflattering sweater. But the yarn was in my stash and it's a quick knit! (Famous last words...)

I love the truffley goodness. Did you go ahead and knit the front in one piece to avoid that grafting thing? If not, your graft looks pretty darn invisible! :)

Oooooh, I like the color of your lace leaf sweater! Gooo Bruins sock! When you say the slip stitch heel changes the fit of the sock, does it make it fit better or worse?

The sock is gorgeous! And I'm so glad you are making this sweater. I'll live vicariously through you.

well i think the lace leaf pullover looks good so far. isn't that a really fast knit? do model for us when you're done. THEN we can decide whether or not it's a good fit. Heck, it's supposed to be a loose baggy sweater anyway right?
