US Open and River

I've been watching and enjoying the US Open Tennis matches the past two weeks. And while I've been watching Agassi get to the finals and Clijsters winning the whole enchilada, I've been working on River.

Pattern - River from Rowan 38
Yarn - 1 ball of Knitpicks Shadow in Vineyard

Yes, River is done. I didn't make the little scrunchie because I knew I would never wear it that way. This was really a test to see if I like lace. And if you've been keeping track, I finished this in under a week, so yes, I like lace! The only problem is that it's a little short to as a shawl. I knew I should have added more repeats, but I thought I'd end up wearing it more of a scarf anyways.

I've also started another pair of socks.

The yarn is Vesper Sock yarn from Knitpixie in the Aquamelon colorway. I think this was the first acid dye batch and the colors are a little lighter than I thought they'd be. But the yarn is great to knit with and I love the stripes!

Pretty! I decided to make them top down because I wanted to use a dutch heel and toes because of the stripes, and I have no idea how to do that toe up.

It's almost time for the men's final - Go Agassi!

Holy cow! If that sock yarn looks light to you, I think I'd need sunglasses to see the brighter version. :) I think the colorway is great, very fun.

Also, congrats on finishing River! I like that plummy purple color you chose. So pretty and you know purple is so IT for fall. hee hee!

Congrats on finishing River. I casted on today and I hope mine goes as fast as yours. What is your finished size??

Okay, I know that I read your entry about finishing your Blissful Jacket, but I forgot about the collar issue ... and being the trusting person that I am, I did it as DB suggested and my collar was huge. Now that I've re-read this, I'll start the collar over ... thanks for letting me vent! :) jeniferknits.blogdrive.com

Congrats on River! Lace is addicting. My first lace project was Birch and I finished it in 10 days! Love the sockyarn too! Where did you get it? They're sold out over at knitpixie
