Katrina relief

Like so many of you, I have been so upset at all of the devastation caused by Katrina. I hope none of your loved ones are missing or have had their homes damaged by the hurricane. But I never cease to be amazed at how the knitting community has pulled together and created a couple of ways to help with the hurricane relief. Even though these links have been posted on many blogs, I just wanted to do my part in the disaster relief.

Margene has set up a program to donate funds to the Red Cross and you can also donate a prize to the cause.

HoJo over at Full Thread Ahead has Katrina Teddy Bear Kits for sale - they're $20 and 20% of the proceeds will go to hurricane relief. If you make the bear and send it back, they'll distribute the bears to children affected by the hurricane.

Here is the link to the Red Cross.

And for all those animal lovers out there? Noah's Wish is a organization dedicated to sheltering and rescuing animals affected by natural disasters. The Humane Society is another worthy charity helping out animals.

Maggie and Unki want to make a donation!

Another easy way to make a donation to the Red Cross is through itunes. Very helpful as i couldn't remember my PayPal password today.
