Beach Time
I don't have any knitting pics to show because all I've been working on is my Union Market Square Pullover. I'm so close to finishing I can taste it! Literally just one sleeve cap to finish, block and sew in. But I'm going to wait to post pics until it's completely completed.
I hope everyone in the Gulf Coast is managing with Hurricane Katrina and no one is in danger. I guess on both coasts there is Mother Nature to deal with. At least with hurricanes, there is some warning. With earthquakes, we just have to cross our fingers and hope we're not living on a fault line! With that in mind, there are some nice things about living in Southern California, namely the beach.
We went up to Point Dume Beach in Malibu on Saturday. I like to go early and leave around lunchtime. That way we get a good spot on the beach, have the nice morning breeze to cool us off, and we miss the traffic jam of people trying to get to Malibu for the afternoon.
Our lonesome little umbrella on the beach.
We think this is where they shot the final scene of Planet of the Apes.
Don't we look happy?
There was a team of high school kids running around with their coach and at one point they swam out to a point and back. I hope they weren't the swim team because some of the kids couldn't swim very well!
Packing up - I'm wearing Thrill! (And you can see how many more people were there by the time we left).
The highlight was a seal who was hanging out near the shore. I kept missing him, but everytime he'd bob up Rob would yell, "Loose Seal! Loose Seal!"
... ok, that's an Arrested Development joke. Purly Whites will get it! If only he was wearing a yellow bow tie...
