ben squared

So today was a great day! Rob here by the way.

Yesterday, I won tickets from Indie 103.1, for a small little concert by Mr. Ben Folds and Mr. Ben Lee. I am a BIG Ben Folds fan, and when I heard a few days ago about this concert I had to try and win tickets.
The Ben's were playing a small lunch time show at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood. I entered online at indie 103.1, and got a call yesterday that I had won.

We were extremely lucky not to know where we were going and entered the show from the hotel, on the opposite side from the almost every one else. We were able to get a table right in front of the stage.

Ben Lee went on first and put on a great show. I only know a few of this songs, but he is a great performer and really kept the crowd entertained.

As you can see we were quite close to the stage even though we were sitting at a table. Ben Folds came on as soon as Ben Lee finished his set with "Catch My Disease".

The best part of the show was how laid back it was. I love going to shows, being up front, dancing and the such, but this was a mid day show next to a hotel pool. Everyone sat on the floor and just had a great time. I was able to walk behind stage and take this photo of Ben.

Ben started with some new songs, "Jesusland" and "Gracie". He also played "All U Can Eat", "Fred Fones part 2" and "Zak and Sara", which was great as that is a song Mari knows well. But what was even better was Ben was about to get off stage when he called Ben on and they played "Bruised" from "the Bens" album.

The show was great, just wanted to share. Mari and I are seeing Ben and Ben again tomorrow night at the Wiltern with Rufus Wainwright. Rock On.
