Mini-Anna and Mini-Sam

Hello! Sorry for the long break, sometimes life gets in the way of blog-worthy items. But I finally have something to blog about!

I haven't really been knitting for the past few months, so I don't have anything on that front. I knit a couple of pairs of socks for Christmas for my mom and my sister, but I forgot to take photos. Oh well. I also really wanted to make some dolls for my niece and nephew for Christmas, but I couldn't get around to it until last week. Better late than never!

Pattern: Wee Wonderfuls Make-a-long story dolls

I am so in love with these patterns! Even though my sewing skills are still pretty bad, and my embroidery skills are just a notch worse, they still turned out pretty cute! For Mini-Sam, I used scraps that I had around the house, including the kimono fabric I used for Clara. I had to buy new fabric for Mini-Anna, because I didn't have any pink around. To add a little special touch to Anna's doll, I embroidered a picture on one of the shoes.

Phew! It actually turned out loooking like a butterfly.

I gave Anna and Sam their gifts on Saturday. Luckily, Sam did not cry when he saw his slightly alien-looking doppelganger. Here's a photo of how he played with them.

Here's Anna holding both of the dolls.

And this is as close as we got to getting a photo of all four subjects (just ignore the adult size hand in the picture).

I think I can see more of these dolls for other small family members in the future!

So cute! And so glad to hear that you've been busy crafting and haven't fallen off the face of the earth!

So cute! Don't you just love them? I have to make one more for B's niece. She took the first two, and named them after herself and one of her brothers. So I must make another so the other brother doesn't feel unloved, hee hee..
