Lace Leaf Sweater - Finished

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! My birthday is actually tomorrow, so I'll probably post my birthday quiz thingie that everyone's been doing. I'm also hoping that I get the birthday present that I've been asking for weeks.

Meanwhile, I finished my lace leaf pullover this past weekend.

Pattern: Lace Leaf Pullover from Loop-d-Loop
Yarn - 9 balls of Jo Sharp Silkroad Ultra in Truffle

I wrote earlier that I wanted to make a smaller version of the Lace Leaf Pullover, mainly because I had this yarn in my stash. I just made the smallest size without making any calculations. I think it came out pretty good considering I didn't make a swatch (oops!). I did kitchener the top and bottom pieces as per the directions. The front looks good but you can see the seam on the back. It's a little tight around the top of the front but I'm hoping it'll grow when I block it because of the silk content in the yarn.

I really like this yarn. It's very soft and warm but the sweater isn't too heavy. The only problem is that Maggie's hair clings like velcro to it, so I need to make sure that she never comes in contact with it!

This is the button that I got at F&S Fabrics on Pico. They have a ton of buttons so finding something you like is pretty easy. It's a horn button that has a great texture to it that's hard to see in the photo. Big, but it blends in well so it's not too noticeable.

Will Rob come through and get my Long-desired birthday present? Tune in tomorrow!

girl, although i can't really tell the leaf detail on your sweater, it does look like a good fit on you! aren't you glad you finished it despite your initial misgivings? :)

It looks good! I'm glad it worked especially since you didn't knit a swatch, tsk tsk.. =)

Mari, this is one of my favorite lace leaf pullovers of all! Wonderful job. I probably like it so much because it's not as bulky looking as the original. And that color looks like buttah on you! So pretty. You must not be sleeping these days, you're churning out projects like a machine! :)

That looks great! It's nice to know this sweater works in a smaller gauge.

And Happy Birthday!

The lace leaf pullover is so nice in that dark brown! The fit looks good too. What was your gauge/needle size?

I love it! My first thoughts were "What did she do to resize it so that it fits so perfectly?!?" It looks gorgeous on you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Your pullover is lovely in this rich shade of brown. And I think it looks better in the smaller size. Happy Birthday, you've got an awesome sewing machine.

I want to make this and picked up some wool the other day - there was 'just' enough left to squeak in for the yardage rec for the medium size, but my gauge is a little off so I'm a tad worried. Yours looks fab!! (and love that button!) What needle size did you use/gauge did you get in the end? While I procrastinate and calculate and wonder whether I should just go and buy a completely different yarn (been thinking about the ultra)I've started making a mini-one for my little girl in Jo Sharp Aran cotton - as far as I can tell if I make the large size, but in Aran cotton on 5mm needles, it should all be fine, with no real adjustments needed (working length of body and arms out as I go along). I'm crossing my fingers and toes though because I'm really just a beginner at this and can't help feeling maybe I've forgotten something really important...

And happy birthday BTW, from a delurker :)
