Rückblende Freitag!

That's Flashback Friday in German!

Two years ago today, Rob and I were in the middle of a four month trip to Europe. This day we happened to be in Hallstatt, Austria, which is a small town in the Salzkammergut region. It's on a lake, but I can't remember the name of the lake anymore. It was one of my favorite places to stay, as it was incredibly beautful, super friendly, and there was lots and lots of stuff to do.

On this day two years ago we:

Took a cable car? gondola? skyway? to an ice cave. Isn't it pretty?

Went into the ice cave. The trek and journey to the ice cave was more interesting than the cave itself, but it was still lots of fun.

Took a hike to a waterfall. Very scenic, easy hike with no other people. What more could you ask for?

Took a photo of ourselves by placing the camera on a fence post. This is how we usually took most of our photos.

During our time in Hallstatt, we also rode a little motor boat around the lake, visited an old mine, slid down some slides in the mine (way fun!), met lots of friendly cats, ate lots of chicken, took a great walking tour with Helga, visited a charnel house (a room with painted skulls), and were awoken in the middle of the night by a visiting cat! If you happen to find yourself in Austria, make a trip to Hallstatt. It's a wonderful, wonderful place.
