Hey, is that my name on the Purl Bee?

A few weeks ago I talked about working on a project that I would reveal at a later date. Well, that time is here! I've been working at the purlsoho.com warehouse for about two months. It's my dream job - beautiful fabric, yarn, and great co-workers. Jen (my boss) asked if I'd be interested in writing for the Purl Bee, Purl's blog, and I immediately said yes! I'll be writing about Japanese crafting and my first tutorial is up, a little zipper pouch lined with bias tape. I'll be posting more tutorials over time, including my monk's bag.

I try really hard to keep my blog life and "real" life separate, but I'm thrilled that they've intersected in this way. Hopefully I'll still have time to post about my regular projects here, and I hope that you'll enjoy my tutorials and articles on the Purl Bee!

Jealous ones please raise your hand. *raises hand sheepishly* =) I'm also feeling like a bit of an idiot for not catching on that the Mari I was reading about earlier was you but I feel like an idiot a lot of the time anyway ;)

So funny tho - I made a zipper pouch exactly the same as the one pictured (In the same fabric and all) just last week:

So, purlsoho has a warehouse in LA!
When I read the purl bee post, I love the idea and immediately convert the post into a pdf file! But I didn't associate the Mari with you! Congratulations!
And nettie, I had my left hand raised all this time while typing this comment.

What a fun new job! I made two zipper pouches this weekend. I love the bias tape seams, it's such a great way to finish a little bag.
