Last FO of 2005???

I hope everyone had a great holiday - we exchanged presents, went over to my sister's house, and pretty much just relaxed. Ideal holiday!

I managed to finish my transitions sweater - will this be my last finished object of the year?

Pattern - Skinny Ribbed Sweater from Debbie Bliss Noro Collection 2 (lots of modifications!)
Yarn - 5 and a bit skeins of Noro Transitions, Color #6, size 10 needles (6mm)

This was a fun sweater to make. I really enjoyed knitting with Transitions, the yarn colors and type change as you knit with it. It's a warm sweater, I probably won't wear it much here but I'll definitely bring it on our trip back East in January. The original pattern looked like:

and it was knitted in Kochoran, which is a smaller gauge than Transitions. I reduced the number of stitches cast on for the front and back by 12, and I reduced the increasing in the sleeve. I also lengthened the body by two inches. The sleeve caps were a pain to figure out, but they worked out in the end.

I tried to match the striping as well as I could, and I think it looks nice. Only the sleeve caps don't match, but I don't think it's that noticeable. It's definitely a unique sweater!

Mari, that sweater looks fantastic on you! I think the colorway you chose was a good choice, too. You'll be warm and stylin' on the east coast!

I'm so impressed with how much knitting you've finished up lately. I've been in a bit of a rut, so thanks for the inspiration!

Even before I read the entirety of your post, I remarked to myself how beautifully the striping matched!!! It's a lovely sweater, and, yes, the matching striping is awesome :).

It's lovely, they way the colours move from one to another. Looks snug and cozy too.

Very nice! I love the colourway you used much better than the one in the pattern. Yes, the sleeve caps are always a pain ... and a lot of nervous moments too! :)
Happy New Year to you!
